Enrollment Advisor
As your primary contact when you inquire at Walden University, your enrollment advisor will spend time understanding your educational goals, answering your specific questions and guiding you through the application and admissions process. Your enrollment advisor will respond quickly and knowledgeably to questions about the online degree process and make sure that you have a smooth transition to Walden University's student support team.
Financial Aid Counselor/Financial Counselor
You have a number of options for funding your online education. If you apply for federal financial aid, a financial aid counselor will work with you to explain the process and complete the paperwork. Financial aid counselors in the bursar's office can help you with payment plans, employer tuition assistance and other options.
Online Concierge/Customer Service
Unique to Walden University, online degree advisors ease your transition to the classroom with great customer service. They provide technical support and ensure that you have a trouble-free and rewarding learning experience. Through a user-friendly software orientation, they will familiarize you with Walden University's learning environment. Once you begin your graduate degree courses, they will serve as your personal guides, helping you navigate the online classroom.
Academic Advisor
As a new online degree student, you'll work with an academic advisor who specializes in your area to plan a program of study that matches your personal and professional interests. Your academic advisor will then monitor your progress through your graduate degree program, assist you with university policies and procedures, and serve as your liaison with faculty members and staff in other Walden University offices.
Faculty Members
Your professors will work with you to make course projects relevant to your daily responsibilities and your career goals. They will respond quickly to your questions and provide timely feedback on assignments. If you are having difficulty, faculty members will work closely with you to ensure your success in the online degree program.
Research Librarians Through a partnership with Indiana University Bloomington's library system, dedicated Walden University librarians are available to assist you with your research. They will help you develop search strategies, identify and evaluate resources and receive books and journal articles.
Note on Licensure
Walden University’s M.S. in Mental Health Counseling is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a specialized accrediting body
recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), which is a requirement for licensure in many states. The M.S. in Mental Health Counseling program is designed to prepare
graduates to qualify to sit for licensing exams and to meet the academic licensure requirements of many state counseling boards. Because no graduate program can guarantee licensure upon
graduation, we encourage students to consult the appropriate agency to determine specific requirements. For more information about licensure, students should visit the National Board for
Certified Counselors at www.nbcc.org/stateboardmap and contact the appropriate licensing body.
International students are encouraged to identify and contact their appropriate licensing body.
